The use of the owl in art and design has been prevalent throughout history. In ancient Greece the owl was a symbol of wisdom, attributed to the Goddess Athena. Statues and frescos most often portray Athena with her owl companion. Owls have long been cultural symbols and they have been found in cave paintings in France, in Egyptian hieroglyphics and even in Mayan art.
